i am probably goind to be going with the 408 eagle forged kit with 9to1 or little better compression and the t rex cam how much power do you think that will make.

for FI just in case i decide to go with it. what compression would you recomend for me to go with cause their is a good chance this will be a na motor possible a few nos shot if needed. this motor will not be drag raced.

I am going with the regular eagle rotating assembly and a set of dart ls1 heads with a 66cc combustion chamber. That setup will give me a 10.7:1 CR. Then if later on I want to go FI I can just drop a set of 6L heads on there and get the combustion chamber enlarged to 74cc and have a low compression FI motor but not ahve to dig into the bottom end. Not going to be drag raced? Whats the point of building it if you arent going to run it. You would just be better off dropping a 4.8 in it.

Same thing as a 408 except the bore is just 4" like a stock 6L with a stroker crank in it. I would bore the block some to clean up the cylinder walls but if they are nice and clean then go for it no need to bore it just get a hone job done on it and drop the stuff in.

i think i will go with the 402 10.5to1 compression with th t rex cam and no nitrous or FI but it will be with ls6 heads so i can put 6.0 heads on it if i want to boost it but not for certain if i will nitrous or not yet. the motor will have complete forged internals.

Then you could atleast spray a 100 shot on it. With forged internals the engine wouldnt even know you sprayed a 100 shot on it. I plan on spraying a 150 shot all the time then when evre I feel like it pill it up to 200-250.

If you are dead set on going FI then i would go with something like 8.5:1compression or maybe lower. Im not completely sure that the Gen III reacts the same way as the traditional Gen I &II small blocks and the traditional big blocks. I know the latter respond the best to low compression for FI so i would immagine that these LS based motors would be the same. I have seen the old big blocks running 7.5:1 comp with big blower applications but then again i have seen all out drag big blocks run 14:1 comp with Alcohol. I know that MjHoward knows a ton about this topic so maybe he will speak up and share his knowllege.
