hey man, i was wondering if my truck fuel rail would fit onto the ls1 intake? or i was wondering if my rc 42# 8.1 injectors will fit onto the ls1 fuel rail? Im seriously thinking of coping your install with the manifold swap. finding a used intake is easy and cheap, but im not sure what all is involved in the swap. if you could really break it down, id appreciate it.

If anyone else knows anything, then feel free to answer!

You can get the 8.1 injectors to work with the LS6 intake if you use a 97 C5 fuel rail. It has the return style fuel setup with the regulator on the rail. If not, then your truck rail will fit (look funny sticking up) and will need to have mounting points rigged up.

Hey bigguy, sorry for the delay. I have been pretty busy lately. I really am not 100% sure you could run the 8.1L injectors on an LS1 fuel rail with the LS1 intake manifold. The 8.1L injectors might be too small in length to allow even a modified fuel rail to work. You could bend the mounting brackets on the LS1 fuel rail to make it sit down about an eigth of an inch more, but I don't know if you still need to get it down farther and the fuel rail crossover might end up bottoming out on the LS1 intake manifold itself.

I don't think my link in the other post to XLR8NSS's post about Truck to FBody injector swapping worked. So here it is again (for pics of wiring and whatnot)
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ruck+injectors

Either a 97 or 98 Vette fuel rail will work. They both have a return line and use the same regulator specs as the truck rail. So, either of those two years will work.

Once you get that stuff situated, now all you have to do is get the intake manifold to fit on the truck engine. There is an easy way (contact Speartech on how they did this) and just plumb you intercooler inlet pipe in front of the alternator.
Or switch over to Fbody accessories like I did to move the alternator out of the way. My way is alot more involved than Speartech's method, but in my intercooler setup it was necessary. In you setup you may be able to just plumb around the alternator. I agree with you that using the Fbody manifold will result in the best plumbing job for the intercooler.

The difference in injector length is 5/8ths of an inch. By bending the C5 rail, you can gain at least 1/2" if not the full 5/8ths. Fortunately, the crossover tube goes between two of the LS1/LS6 runner plenums and is allowed to sit lower. I have this setup in my garage and have measured it a couple of times.

Someone just needs to fabricate up a new output part for the whipple that just routes output air towards the pass side instead of towards the intake.

i agree with the output part, this ls1 intake swap as me scared. my truck is a daily driver and i cant have more than a day down time. as far as that output part, its gonna be hard to fab. mainly cuz i think one of the major mounting points for the supercharger is on that piece.
