Default CAI intake ping.

Hey guy's I just installled a home made cai kinda like a procold only i cost less than 100 bucks. But now the truck pings. This is on a 2001 1/2 ton 5.3 auto stock.

did you remove the screen from the maf? did you damamge thye screen? did you oil the filter? put on the stock air intake and see if it goes away.

I didnt remove the screen, I'm sure I didnt damage the screen and the filter was pre oiled. I guess i can put the stock air intake back on. I will check the maf and see if it got oil on it or some thing. thanks man.

Remove the screen and you'll be good to go. Dont listen to everyone else, it makes power.

leave the screen alone!!!!! it doesnt do nothing but cause problems if you remove it.
