Default CAI cooling

hi guys i bought a CAI last weekend that has a chrome finish and gets really hot under the hood i was wondering how can i cool it down will heat wrap work on the chrome finish or is there something else i need to use.

i bought it for $60 on ebay and its actually not that bad just looking for a way to cool it down

I would go with a plastic intake keeps cooler but my guess is that heat wrap might work

There has been countless arguments about intake material vs air temp. At the end of the day material doesnt matter. The air never stays long enough in the pipe for the air temp to be affected. After all remember that the heads are aluminum and they get hot....

Unless you log IAT you really dont know if your intake mods are helping out your IAT. Just my. 02.

i log with torque for android it tells my iat it seems warmer than stock plus im wanting to paint it blue or with bed liner but dont know how well the paint would stick to the chrome.

plus the cai gets so hot you can barely touch it. im guessing because of the chrome.
it has an hp tuners tune im thinking of putting a 180 thermostat in it because it runs better before the engine warms up.
