i currently have the volant cia , and like it ,i have also has a k&n fipk II with a open element. i havnt notices any difference in the 2,they both gave a lil sotp power.ive also had a homeade tube with a drop in filter and felt aslight gain in low end. if i had to do it agin i would port the stock air box and throw in a drop in and make a homeade intake tube.

Thanks to everyone for all your insight . I think i will take a bit of both, and go with the ported " mod" stockair box ,(like a violant closed app ? hoping ?) an air raid intake tube(air raid mit $120.00) and a drop in k&n $59.99 and get the best of both worlds with the best perfomance !!!!! ok I know its not an exact science but maybe im right? has any one seen the intake tube on this kind of truck ? It has to be the most restrictive part of the intake . ?? Also does anyone know if i will have to mod the fan shroud with this tube ?

Shop around for the AirRaid MIT. I bought mine locally from a shop for 89 bucks brand new, much cheaper than I have seen it online. Cheapest I've seen online was like 100. No you won't have to mod the shroud, I am running my MIT with stock fans and shroud, its a tight fit, but will work perfectly.
