Default Bye Bye VMAX

just traded it in on an 07 NNBS. RCSB, 4.8, 3.23's. Will post pics soon.

Will my airaid fit the new one? What lowering kits are the best?

Don't know if just the CAI will work or not, but if you had the intake tube, it won't. I love mine that I got last saturday, but they need a tune badly. Mine should be getting tuned this week, and I can not hardly wait.

I am still sick at my stomach about getting rid of the VMAX, but we decided it was the best thing to do money wise.

As soon as I get some wheels and tires, i will drop it a little.

I just did the belltech 2" drop shackles, looks pretty good and cheap. P/N 6400. Also, GM has a 1.25" spacer block on the rear leafs, no idea why, lots of guys are removing it as an initial drop (GM service manual says not to reuse the u-bolts but lots of guys have, probably ok being so new, not like they are torque to yield or anything).

On the rear shackles, I had to remove hitch to access lower bolt and then also had to lift the box about 3/8" each side to get the upper bolt out as there is a sheetmetal flange right there. Some guys beat it over but thats kinda ugly IMHO. Not a big deal. Sorry no pics of drop yet.

Shackle bolt torque 70lbs/ft
Axle u-bolt torque 74lbs/ft
Box bolts torque 63lbs/ft
Hitch bolts torque 70lbs/ft (captive) and 80lbs/ft (with nuts (forward 4)).

Hope that helps.

Lets see some pics of your new baby!! 20's will look good, these trucks should have them standard. ..visually fills out the wheelwells...
