Default buying cam, need advise

i have a TT3000 and transgo shift kit now along with all the mods listed in sig!! and i am looking for a cam to put in! thinking maybe 220/220 - 112!! would this perform well??

Agreed, should be a good combo in a 4.8l.

i talked to allen @ nelson performance and he urged me to come get a live tune on it so it should be fun!!! i was really thinking of a 222/224 but still havnt made up my mind

I have the 220/220 114 i nmine and im happy with it.. kinda wish it was on 112 LSA though for a better sounding idle. anything in the 220-224 range for your truck would be nice

I think you should go with a 218/228 on a 116LSA. Of course I have one for sale, so I'm biased. It would work well with your setup though.

I have a comp cam 222/224 and it works perfect in my 5.3L its on 112

4.8 i would go with TR 220 on a 112 and for the 5.3 a TR 224 on a 112. and of course the yank truck thruster 3000 should be the stall of choice. throw in some 918's and youre ready to rock.

PS: From what i have done and seen, tuning makes a whole lot of difference when working with cams and other upgraded valvetrain parts. Ie driveability, idle stuff like that

i think your on the right track with the tr 220. i wouldnt go with split duration unless your on the bottle.
