With that low of mileage on your 5.3, I think you'll have more fun with the truck if you add FI, than you will with a built 6.0 swap.

The right combo on a 5.3 can be pretty damn surprising.

I would stick with the 5.3 personally, but if you pull it I doubt you'll have ANY problems selling it.

I thought about selling it, didn't know if it was even worth it. If I do swap motors ill prob keep the 5.3 for my 52.

There's too many choices, now I really don't know what to do.

I hate to rain on your parade Jeff, but the 2006 engine isn't an LQ9. The "U" in the vin# tells you it's an LQ4, an "N" would mean it's an LQ9.

Wasn't sure if it was lq9 or not, that's why I put a ? mark after it. I was just going to make a post to see if you could use the vin to find out.
Thanks OL'MAN

Coming from someone who spent a little bit of time with NA parts and watched people around him go FI from the start... buy a god damn turbo kit and let that 5.3 eat. A cam and turbo could easily net you 500+ at the wheels. Not to mention if you do grow, the turbo will keep up very easily.

Not a huge dif. between teh Q9 and Q4, it the Q4 was markedly cheaper, I'd go LQ4. Less than 5hp difference once the tune is optimized.

Ever think of looking into a LY6? Same basic longblock of the LQ4/9 but with the L92?S3 heads.

peace

After thinking about it for a couple days, I'm pretty sure I'm going turbo. I'm gong to start a new thread in FI. I want to put my own kit together and have some questions.

Thanks everyone for the opinions/help.
