Im planning to get some tri-y LT's soon, I know Ill have to get a custom Y pipe made. I'm planning a flowmaster y, but dont know what size to get. 2 1/4" to 3", 2 1/2" to 3", or 3" to 3 1/2" then go thru a 3 1/2" to 3" venturi for possinle future plans. If I do what I want, Ill probably go with a completely new exhaust set up, so the 3" to 3 1/2" is the one I m really not leaning to, but dont know if I need 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 intermediate pipes.
Or other sugestions??

my exhaust is it sits now is like this dynatech lts, 3" cutout right of the collectors, no cats to a factory exhaust flange for the intermediate pipe to a corsa sport system. My y-pipe is built exactly like pacesetters except I have dual 3" cutouts on it. I like it since i can have it quiet running down the road and loud as hell when I want it too.

Make sure I understand. You come off the collector 3" to 3" to a 3" Y to 3" exhaust?? What Y pipe are you using? You should have swung by on your way through......wait nevermind

here are two pics my damn camera is taking a **** when I switch it to camera mode it turns off

the drivers side basically looks the same as the pass side the cutouts are angled wierd so that I can pount me electric acutuators on there and keep them up out of harms way for the most part.

Thanks slow. You still didnt answer my question though should I use 2 1/4, or 2 1/2? I dont need 3" even with my (hopefully) future mods, my setup wont be as extreme as yours. Ill stop at a 408, maybe with a radix
(if I ever win the lotto)

2 1/2 thats what i had on my cammed 5.3 and it ran well. 2 1/4 is too small IMO. With a y-pipe thoug you are combining both promaries into one so your exhaust is really only going to flow like a single 3". If it was me and I was going to run a y-pipe with your setup I would get the 3" if I was going to run duals then dual 2.5

Well I had planned to buy the Flowmaster merge connector (y) and the y have a dual 2 1/2 in to a 3" out, and a dual 3" to a 3 1/2" out. If I did this then Id have to reduce back down to 3". If I do ever get around to building a 408, Ill go with a different set up anyway, so I dont thing I need 3 1/2. Its also a PITA to find someone around here that can bend 3" without crimps. I can get 2 1/2 bent good, I'm not too worried about the crimps behind the muffler (Ill just open the cut out) but I dont want them in the Y pipe.
