Vendors could be very well selling fake parts etc.
This is the risk you take when buying third party.
I verified with BTR that michiganmotorsports is an authorized dealer.

In my world, if I was a company/manufacturer that sold products like these I would surely want to know if someone had a legit problem with a product that I was producing let alone putting my name on. I know there would be situations that would be out of my control, but I would do my best to rectify the situation. Often the "vendor" will not relay the situation to the mfg. so I chose to cut out the middle man.

Also, it seems that I am not the only one that has experienced this issue.......

This is the exact issue that I believe caused the blemishes on the trunnions that I received. Albeit Summit shows the reviewer "Bill" gave it 5 stars but only one out of five for each of the individual areas of review? Hummm.

If I can find the email pertaining that conversation specifically or else it is just heresay. It is a guy I trust so I believe him for sure.
I believe that to be the case based on my own experience around that time as well. They were a CHE dealer and were out of stock on the trunion Kit and a certain sized pushrod that I needed at the time. They were out of stock for several months. I called BTR to find out when they might get more stock. I was told they were on back order from CHE and they tried to sell me there house brand. I declined and let them know I would only use the CHE product for my application.
So I started looking around and found that SDPC had them in stock. I called they said they had plenty in stock and hadn't heard anything about a back order issues. Placed my order and went about my business'. I later called another dealer I found but hadn't used before and called them. Same story. So I decided to call CHE directly. Plenty of stock, no deliver issues, Said the vendor should be able to call and get what they need, wasn't sure why they would tell me they were on back order. At the time He wasn't aware of any issues with any specific vendors But he also doesn't work in accounting where that would be known. I had to wait for the pushrods to come of back order. I think it was about a month from when i placed the order but they were out of stock much longer. TSP will not ship to California so I had to stop using them. I believe they also raised the price on there pushrods around that time.

Well I went ahead and purchased the V2 BTR trunion kit as I am expecting to send back the V1 kit for a refund. Received the V2 kit which is supposed to be better with pressed on hardened bearing inner surfaces and one of the trunions received looked like this..........

W.T.F.!!!
I notified the vendor and they are sending me another one to replace it. Additionally, the bearings that came with the "upgraded" V2 kit are the same china bearings the V1 kit had. I thought I saw a review of the V2 kit somewhere on youtube where the v2 kit came with bearings made in USA, guess not. I really wish I would not have even messed with this "upgrade" as the OEM rocker trunion bearings were still good from what I can tell. All I can say is that both the V1 and V2 trunion upgrade kits from BTR are crap. I guess this is just a sign of the times, who needs quality control anyway?
