Has anyone broken the spider gear im an Eaton posi?Broke mine on first hard pass.I've sent it back to the vendor who sent it to Eaton.Does anyone know if this is a common problem and how good is Eaton at handling warranty claims?

Where did you buy it? I have never heard of anyone breaking one, of all the message boards I hang out on. I have one in my street rod, but I have never put any sticky tires on it and I have one in my truck now but haven't had it in there long enough to tell. Didn't you break the tranny at the same time? Did something let loose in the trans to cause a "neutral slam"? That could be hard on the rearend. Sounds like you got the one that was supposed to be shipped to me-I always get the defective stuff.

I replaced my broken G80 with the Eaton posi because I had heard it was bullitproof then when I hammered it on street tires the first time I started to hear the rattle in the rearend.Since I turned up the boost on the Magnacharger and everything in the drivetrain seems to want to break.

Is your rig still down and out? Whats the status on your tranny? My truck still on the lift. Pistons are supposed to be here today so I should be driving around this weekend. I will be coming to the track in a couple weeks if all goes well. I finally settled on the 02 ZO6 cam. I am going to dyno tune it before hammering on it-don't want a repeat of the last time out.
