I was going to put on the new cat back on the GMC and went to unbolt the stock one. First bolt broke at the flange. Haven't tried the other yet. How are the stock bolts in there? Are they spot welded? Can I hit it with a hammer and they will pop out? Do I chisel the head off?
Right now the one bolt I didn't touch is holding up with the other broken one still in there.
Just wondering how to get the stock bolt out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

They are just pressed in studs. Like a wheel stud but smaller. Bang the old ones out with a hammer and replace them with regular nuts and bolts. You'll be fine, happens all the time.
