Default broken crank

I found the limits of the stock 6 liter crank today!! 100 miles on a fresh motor and it started making a sound like a loose flywheel. As it got worse I decided to see what would happen if I hammered it. Not a good idea! I punched it at about 20mph and when it hit 2nd gear around 60 mph.....BAM

The starter will turn the flywheel and torque converter over fine, but it doesnt sound right and the pullies and accessories on the front dont turn!!

So, I am not sure what I will do now, credit card maxed from two motors in the last 6 months and the last 4l60 back in December and the 4l80 swap.

Anybody wanna donate a built motor?

Man that really sucks! Sorry to hear that. I wish I could help, but I'm pretty much in your same situation with my blower and such...

Parish, Man I dont have a clue. I was driving on the highway for about 20 miles at 65mph and when I took the exit and came to a stop my buddy asked me what the noise was and I couldnt hear it. So I pulled over in a parking lot and we got out to check it and it would come and go. So since it was looking very stormy I decided to chance making it home. Didnt work, we had to walk in the rain anyways!

Who built your motor? Doesn't sound like enough stress was put on it to cause it to break.

I cant wait to pull it down and see where it is broke. This was an actual 6 liter crank which I have read are solid as opposed to some of the others being hollow? The way my luck runs I got the one defective crank out of thousands produced!

BenKey- I built it, just last Thursday actually. Got it running day before yesterday. This was a standard size 2002 model 6 liter crank taken from a 3000 mile motor and checked and cleaned by a reputable local machine shop. It checked out fine.

keep in mind that there was a large load on the front of the crank due to the blower.
