Brand New 07' CC 5.3 4x4
#1
Hello again everyone. Its been some time since I last posted, and I have updated my garage as you can all see from the title of this thread. My last truck was great, and Ill miss her, but I am looking forward to tinkering with this one. As can be seen from my signature I didnt really know what I was doing when it came to upgrades, so IM going to ask for help right out of the box on this one.
First question. I admit to being engine dumb, even though I know how to wrench, and love wrenching. So, being this truck is brand new, only 800 miles on it so far, is there a proper way to break in a new engine, or does normal daily driving take care of it?
Second question. For the most part I am staying stock, simply because I dont want to void my warranty by screwing with the engine internals, such as a cam and the like. But I do want a new exhaust, FIPK, and I will be leveling it out, I just dont like the front rake, and I dont really tow enough to be concerned with the front nose drop. So, for exhaust I was thinking Magnaflow 16741, duel exit rear exhaust. Ive seen everyone approves of Magnaflow, but how is the drone when in 4 cylinder mode?
As far as FIPK, I was looking at the K$N 63-3058. Is a dry element better then an oiled, and does anyone have any recomendations other then K$N?
For the leveling kit I think Im going with the Trailmaster.
Any other suggestions? I thought of Longtubes and an Offroad Y, but when searching for Pacesetter I dont see any 07' models listed, will other years work?
Thanks in advance for the help and the advice.

as far as break in, technically break in is done at the factory before it gets to the dealer to prevent some people from breaking them in improperly and causing many warranted problems. also ive always heard to break it in how you plan to drive it.
dry element will help from warranty problems, they like to kick on the oil filters because of over oiling and messing MAF sensors and more. dry element is also easier to maintain.
i would look at AEM, volant, and outlaw for cold air intakes

Does anyone know if there are long tube headers and an offroad Y that are made for the 07's yet? Ive looked but nothing comes up. Will another year work?
And about the magnaflow exhaust. I want a deep rich throaty sound. Side exit or rear exit? I had the Gibson on my other truck and was pleased with it, but everyone on the boards seems to rave about Magnaflow so I thought Id try them out this time. Once again thanks for any and all help/advice.
