Hey just curious how many of you guys do brakestands in ur trucks.. Is it really bad for these trucks? Has anyone had any problems from doing them? Last nite I did a couple of them and next thing I know it sounds like the shocks or leafs are squeakin a lil bit when goin over bumps. Never did this before. Do you think something might just need to be lubed up or did i hurt something from a break stand. here more of an example of what its doin.. Say when the is parked and u stand on the rear bumped and jump up and down. Now it squeaks, but everything seems fine? 04 silverado..

If you are talking about holding down the brake pedal and doing burnouts yes it is VERY hard on drivetrain compenents. including rearend, u-joints, tranny, brakes. they look cool but are a good way to brake things and wear out parts fast. If you are into doing that quite a bit perhaps you should consider a line lock or something that will disable the rear brakes and reduce the stress on drivetrain compenents. when the rear brakes are active it really puts extra strain on everything. the guys at the tire shop think power braking is really cool

Yea i dont do em at all really, but i was in the mood the just let the 5.3 rip. especially since i baby that thing all the other times. Im thinking that i might need to grease up my shackles or something in the back where i had those replaced with lowering ones.
