I just had my Borla Pro XS 3" muffler installed today. It is in place of the stock muffler, with stock tailpipe exit. It has a nice low rumble outside of the truck, with no interior resonance while cruising or at highway speeds. It also has a nice rumble above about 2300 rpms. I wanted to keep the stock appearence and keep it as quiet as possible. The muffler added a pretty good SOTP improvement, especially low end power. The throttle seems to be more sensitive and the truck more jumpy. Definately worth the money ($90 on ebay + $35 install). I will post pictures of it installed and a video with sound (if someone can host the video) as soon as I get time.

i just did the same on my wifes 04 cc, borla with the same exhaust pipe, sounds real nice outside and can barely hear it inside, she did not notice it until 2 days later, after I told her!!!

interesting that you got better low end. i thought changing out exhaust loses back pressure therefore you lose low end. i gained high end with my borla. maybe because mine was a catback. does keeping stock piping keep back pressure?
i love my borla. sounds, looks, and performs good, but a little too mellow for me

I was also really surprised that I gained low end, it might be because I have a Volant on the intake side, and now a Borla on the exhaust side. I figured the stock muffler was a huge bottle neck. The stock piping on the Tahoe is some of the best I've ever seen on a stock truck. My 5.8 Bronco had 2.25" piping with probably 1.5" bends (it's a Ford, what would you expect
), but the Tahoe had a 2 7/8" single in into two 3" outs, but I heard only one side of the stock muffler flows, the other is a baffle. The bends also nearly mandrel with hardly any kinks or sharp bends.
The truck sounds really mean at WOT and at startup, but unless you get on it, it's barely louder than stock. When I said it gained low end power, I meant part throttle acceleration without the truck downshifting, usually under 3000 rpms. It's a lot "zippier" than a usual 2.5 ton SUV
. I'll work on the videos today... can anyone host them or tell me how?

One of the pics is the stock dual 3" exit.
