are you planning to overbore a 4.8 to a 5.4 or something?

4.8 and 5.3 are identical bore size, just different stroke.
You can safely bore to 5.7 pistons with 5.3 crank and have a 346 cubic inch engine

i meant 5.4 ~ 328ci

thanks for the catch

ps - i assume the sbc 350 & vortec 5.7 have different bores & strokes. if not, 4" pistons on the 5.3 crank will give you a 6.0

i have herd that the 4.8 crank allows you to rev higher, so what if i use 5.7 pistons with the 4.8 crank? i was just thinking about a good way to have an angine that could rev up to like 6500 at least, but make ok amount of power

if you can do it on a 5.3 you can do it on a 4.8, they are both the same block

ya, we know its the same block, but it still can't be done.

And I rev my motor to 6600 daily, and Corey revs his 4.8 to 7000 all the time as well.

why? if a 5.3 can do it, why cant a 4.8? and i know that the 4.8's are high revers, but i just need more power

umm... 4.8/5.3 blocks can't be bored out to 4", man. period.

just to clarify, LS 5.7's do not have a 4" bore if that's where your hiccup is. They have a 3.89x" bore or somewhere there abouts. 6.0 blocks have a 4.0" bore.

Quick Reply: bore out 4.8???
