Default boost guage problems

well the autometer guages have been siting in the back of the truck for a month now ..finally got the time to get them put in. the problem is where do i tap in the plastic line into the intake manifold ?
we tried the passenger side one that goes to the blow off for the charger put a T in it and were only seeing vacum only ? does the vehicle have to be moving to see the booost if any when i get into it ? i have three mechanic baffled at the guage showing no boost. The needle on the guage moves it starts at 30 vacum and climbs close to zero but no boost ??
there seems to be a lot of points in the manifold where it looks like you can unscrew a cap can you unscrew them ??
2002 gmc sierra ATI Procharger 8-9 PSI ??
thanks

Jim

What your saying sounds awfully familiar. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Are you just revving the engine while sitting there in park?

If so there is no load on the motor so the blow off valve will not close. Thats why your not seeing any boost.

Don't ask me why I know this. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Take the truck out for a spin and see how much boost ya got. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

If you still don't see any boost try hooking the line up into the brake booster hose.

Good luck

John

When in park, I have around 21 vacum and you really can't show any boost while revving it. I thought the same thing when I first got mine installed, but once I got it on the highway and let her rip, it stayed glued at 6 psi. Kent.

How many pounds of boost do you see coming out of that Procharger?
