You've completely dismissed my idea or didn't read my post. (?)

IMO, a better set up would be one a that opens with % of throttle given. This way, it can be tuned appropriately and would be opening as boost goes up too. Not sure how sophisticated it would be for tuning though, it's a lot going on at once.

Great video. Did you just change the actuator rod length or just run a lighter spring?

You could run a dual exhaust w/cats, an X-pipe and a couple large Magnaflows to have a relatively tame sounding exhaust and install two of those pre-cats to have an unrestricted exhaust under any serious boost.

Like KB said, it is just like a wastegate for your exhaust so the vacuum/boost operated actuator would be a lot more reliable than the electric style cutouts.

Nice idea. A simple 12v dc solinoid on the boost line would keep it from seeing boost and opening when you didn't want it to.

I emailed them to find out what kind of metal it's made from.

That is cool.
Did you have to reverse the actuator, or what?
Is it stainless or mild steel?

Mine is laser cut stainless steel. To make it work I removed the boost actuator and modifyed the bracket to accept the 4x4 vacuum actuator from a s10 truck. However the vacuum actuator doesn't like boost so I had to rig up a series of check valves to prevent the vacuum actuator from blowing out.

Next time you come down you can check it out. I forgot to mention that I also have a 12volt solenoid so that I can open the cut out at any time, no matter the vacuum.

Dude, you're going to have to draw a picture or something. That's bad ***! It would be awesome to have a relatively quiet exhaust most of the time. Then when you're playing, enabling the boost actuated exhaust cut out. I love it!

Is there any possible way you could dumb it down for me? What components did you use exactly and what modifications are needed? I want to do this in the future for sure! I could mount a single cut out right before my magnaflow!

Simply awesome.
