Default Which bolts to turn to loosen motor mounts?

Hey guys. I need to loosen my motor mounts to shift the motor over just slightly (so the header will stop banging the front driveshaft on my 05 silverado. I dont need to move it but just a little bit, as it only touches the header when turning sharp with no throttle application.

Which bolts do I turn and how tough is it to manually shift the motor over slightly.

Thanks
Mike

Theres 3 bolts on each side holding the motor mounts to the frame. Im not sure if your going to get any movement tho being mounted to the trans and all.

What do you mean manually shift it?

I think he means to do it himself with a prybar or something similar

I shifted the cross member over too, my headers were hitting the frame.

I do mean to use a prybar and get the motor to move over slightly. Im not sure I really need it as the touching problem has been all but fixed with a little heat and a prybar on the primary. I barely put a dent in the header, so maybe I will just dent it a little more and call it a day.

Denting is probably going to be your best bet. Moving it with a prybar would be a bitch.

I don't know why everybody thinks that it's so hard to shift the motor over, I did it by myself in less than 15 minutes. From what I remember, I loosened the bolts that you can get to by going straight down from under the hood. I put a floor jack under the oil pan and just pulled the engine over to the side that I needed clearance on. I might even have persuaded it a little with a pry bar for good measure. I got quite a bit of movement and didn't have to damage my new stainlessworks headers and impede exhaust flow. Much easier and cleaner than whaling on your nice new headers with a hammer/pry bar/butcher knife
