Default Blew up my G80

Was doing some tuning tonight and wanted to log some launch and WOT data for my 2000 Tahoe. On my second launch...CLANK! Thought I dropped a u-joint.

Didn't have my flashlight with me so I climbed under the car and tried to shake my driveshafts (4wd) and couldn't find anything wrong.

After limping home, a little more than a mile, and grabbing a flashlight, I recheck both driveshafts, all u-joints, and then notice a drip from the differential. Go out back and see a hole about two and a half inches wide by a half inch tall. Pulled the cover and found one of the spider gears in about 20 pieces.

Don't know how it happened, I'm not making that much power. Nothing all that special here: LS1, LS1edit, 2200 converter, long tubes, B&B Exhaust, CAI.

That diffs SOL....Problem is GM and pretty much everyother car company are so globalised that cost of slightly better pionion gear, U joint, axle etc may only be few dollars but that could be hundreds of thousands of millions of dollars in the large scale. Look at the ford pinto, ford probley knew it was an explosive device they made more money by building a cheaper car besides the impact of many lawsuits.
Atleast now you could opt for a 12 bolt or swap for 4:10s and a auburn posi.
