Default Biggest Cam

What is the biggest cam that I can put in my DD without changing the converter or gears. I only use the truck to go back and forth to work but sometimes I will haul a load. I like to get in the 13's but you can see how heavy I am. I also like to keep the RPM's around 6000. I will be adding LT's and later L92 heads. I have stock tires.

a tr220 would work well with a stock converter and 3.73s and you can limit your rpms to around 6k. since not a high lift/high rpm cam, i would think 243 heads would work better while also rasing your compression a bit.

I agree with the 220r cam, at the track you just wont gain any more et with a bigger cam cause the 60 foot will just drop after that. id spin it to 6500 regardless of what cam you go with, and if you can sneek in atleast a 3000 stall that will help alot. the l92 heads are bad *** but do have big chambers, try to get a .030 mill on them before you throw them on.

Is that the only cam? There is a 112 and a 114 LSA. Will either work. The ramp is kind of aggresive, will it last 35k or 45k. I seen a couple cams that seem interesting on Parke10-Towing 5.3 thread but they were running smaller engines.

L92 heads do not respond well to single pattern cams. Look at one of Comp's new LSr cams. Look at the 215/223 in particular. I think this cam would do well on both heads.
