Default Big boost build questions

What exactly do I have to do to the bottom end to be able to handle big boost levels? By big boost I mean whatever the Radix can produce without damaging the S/C. By the way what will the Radix make and not destroy itself? When I do a rebuild I plan to go to a 6.0 and bore it a little and want to slap on the most boost the Radix will put out. I need a 500 or 600 rwhp daily driver.

Radix guys jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the max, max, max boost you'll see if the stars are all aligned, and you're holding your mouth right is 10-11 psi on stock 6.0 cubes. I think a reasonable target will be 9psi.

If that is true, a stock LQ9 will hold run that boost (esp. intercooled) all day long. Spend the extra money on a top flight exhaust system, IMO.

I know someone that is running 12 lbs on a stock 6.0 with bolt ons and puts down 550 rwhp. Radix of course. I think it may depend on how high flow your exhaust is to wether or not you can build big boost. More flow=less boost, I think that is how it works.

I would look into some good pistons, (going to have to buy them anyway) If you only run around 10psi I would thing the rest of the rotating assy. would be o.k, but some good studs and rod bolts would be a good idea too.

You need a good cam in there to keep the boost in the cylinder. Ruffrider is right the more the exhaust scavenges the less boost you will see.

I'm not real smart on this boost stuff so answer me this. Is 9 pounds of boost on a normal 6.0 and 9 pounds on a very well breathing 6.0 going to make a big power difference? Or am I only going to see 20hp or so like with a good exhaust system? What are the rwhp difference in a radix'd 5.3 and a radix'd 6.0 everything else being equal?

You may see less boost if you open up the exhaust, I don't know if the exhaust gains will supercede the loss of boost, it may lose a lbs at the most I believe. The 6.0 is a monster and cannot really be compared too the 5.3 due to piston size, stroke, etc. I have seen the 5.3s making like high 3 hundreds, when the 6.0 will make in the 4 hundreds. What do I know, I dont even have a supercharger.
