Default Beyond bolt-ons

Well, I told myself to slow down with the mods since I have pretty much every bolt-on out there. I now have a cam heading my way. Guess I may be trying to get a little more out of this 5.3 before I upgrade.

Here's what I'm wondering, since I have a cam going in, is it beneficial to upgrade the rockers? I'm going to do the springs and pushrods. Here's the specs for the cam:

Advertised Duration: 272°/280°
Duration @ .050: 208°/216°
Lobe Separation: 113°
Gross Lift: .500''/.500''
RPM Range: 1500-5200

You all may have seen it before. What would by my stall limit for a TC with this cam? Manufacturer recommends stock to 2500. Would a TT3000 give me similiar problems Parish8 is inquiring about?

Also, I'd like to justify my BBK 80mm TB. Has anyone P/P'd the stock intake manifold? What do you think would be the gains and cost.

I was going to gut the cats or get a aftermarket/stock Y-pipe w/out cats to install some cutouts, but from what's been posted recently it doesn't seem worth it to lose that back pressure.

Basically, I'm looking for items to take advantage of the cam and aftermarket intake/exhaust.

Thanks again all!!!!

longtubes and a stall...possibly gears will give you the most out of your cam...and ofcourse tuning. that cam you're getting honestly should take taht much tuning though with the relatively small lift. that cam will make good low end torque though. a local guy has a cam that's 210/220 .505/.505 111 that makes INSANE torque. i've heard that the TT3000 is a pretty sweet converter....it's in a lot of trucks so there should be a good bit of feedback to find out there.

TTT! Anybody have any input for the manifold or rockers?

Thanks Slow. I do have AS&M's already. Gonna get a stall when I make up my mind for the tranny. Built 4L60le or a 4L80e. 111 LSA on your friends cam? That;'s the lowest I've seen yet. Bet that thing kicks *** sitting at a red light. Too bad lope isn't conducive for power adders.

i wouldn't worry about the rockers. Most people only get a couple rwhp from them.

Save your money - go with the stock rocker.

As I expected, just had to double check with the cam I'm getting.
