better explaination Yank problem

I posted up last night "yank problem please help" and the post is getting confused with mass airflow sensors and crap so I am going to reexplain the problem.
Take it to the track friday, everything shifts fine.
Tuesday get yank and deep tranny pan installed.
Saturday reach my 150 mile break in goal.
Floor it, it flashes to about 2800rpm.
pulls hard through about 4500rpm.
Then it completely disengages, and my rpms hit rev limiter quick because tranny stopped pulling. It is just like I hit 4500rpm and knocked it up to neutral.
I back off about 3/4 throttle and it tries to "hunt" for engagement.Finally it engages.
Floor it again in 2nd. pulls through only about 3800rpms before letting go again. I hold it down and tach just bounces off of rev limiter not shifting or anything.
I let off to 3/4 throttle and "hunts" like crazy bad to get engaged.
So there is the scenario. Fluid was checked THOROUGHLY at least 10 times throughout this. I did what parish8 said and went through all of my gear selectors and let it idle, then checked it and repeated and repeated over again to get as accurate a reading as I could on the dipstick.
It is acting like it looses line pressure when a high demand is there or something. The shop that did it did say something about having trouble putting the filter extender on the tranny for the deeper pan. Do ya'll think maybe something is clogged and not letting enough fluid circulate?
I have a tranny cooler also but it worked fine before the Yank install so I know it is not that. I also did a Escalade instrument cluster swap during my Yank breakin period. That is the only variable that I have. The Yank, B&M tranny pan, and cluster(doubt cluster has anything to do with it but maybe computer? something?)
By the way my truck has stock programming. The first thing I did was take hpp3 out.
Maybe this will give you better info to make a diagnosis.

It sounds to me like this is a trans problem and not a problem with the converter. The converter doesn't lock at WOT so it's not like it could just let go.
The only time I've ever had problems similiar to what you describe was in my '00 SS Camaro. I overheated the trans fluid at the track and on the next pass the car would not shift from second to third. It just sat there in between gears bouncing off the limiter.
I'd pull the pan and see if that filter got installed right. Maybe the pickup isn't reaching the bottom of the pan and is coming uncovered at WOT.(If that's possible). That might explain the bubbles on the dipstick also. Your theory about something clogged sounds like a potential culprit too.
I think there may be a trans pressure parameter you can check out in ATAP if you have it.
Good luck getting it straightened out.

Like I said in your other post, I have the same problem with my Yank 3000. When I go WOT from a stop there is little slippage from 1-2 but from 2-3 the trans seems to slip at 4000 RPM's, red lines, and won't shift into 3rd til I let off the gas. Then the trans just seems to engage and dis-engage very rapidly giving a "bouncy" feeling until it finally engages completely. Even after cruising in 3rd or 4th gear at 75mph+ for while it seemed to let go again. I also have checked my fluid level numerous times-perfect level.

I hate to inform you but the MAF CAN cause problems with your car shifting oddly or totally feeling like it is slipping in gear till you hit the rev limiter. It is a common problem on F-bodies with high stall converters are modified MAFs, especially 00'-02' because of the sensitive PCM programing.
Again, this may not be your problem but don't rule it out as common as it is.

Hey man sorry to hear this. You might want to drop the pan (10mm socket with extension and pry bar to bend the cable bracket out of the way) and make sure the hose and filter are connected properly. You probably have to drop the exhaust pipe too since you have the deep pan. But since another guy has the same problem, maybe the installers didn't pour fluid in the converter before they installed it, or maybe there was a bad batch. You should definitly call Yank Monday.

I brought my truck to the tranny shop again today and come to find out the problem was with the filter extender that came with my B&M tranny pan. They didn't put it on correctly I believe. The part might have been bad also. Anyway has anyone had trouble getting the filter extender on? Basically it was sucking air from that part or something and everything was just bubbled up.
Yank said something about a camaro having a shorter filter in the 4l60e than in the trucks. Maybe that was the problem, my pan is made for the cars? I don't know. Anyway thought I should tell ya'll for future reference.

it feels alot better from takeoff. going to the track friday. Can't really tell yet as for as 2-3 shift gaining et but I WILL gain from launch.
