Best way to remove the crank pulley
#11
Recently broke the OTC tool and was in a pinch. NAPA had a tool on the shelf, and it's beefier than the OTC. The same pulley that broke the OTC came off with the NAPA tool. I can post the part number tomorrow.

I used the chrysler puller rented from Oreillys. the bolt was to short so stuck a 3/8 extension in the crank and pot some grease between the bolt and extension and bam came off fairly easy

ok the hard part, how did you guys get it back on? Last time i did this the engine was out of the truck so I could tap it on with mallet untill i could screw the bolt in a few threads to seat the pulley

You can get one here, or maybe somebody can loan ya one... Cheap compared to jacking the crank up

To remove it I used a 3 jaw puller but cut a length of threaded rod down to hand tighten fully into the crank and put a dimple on the end so the puller stays centered.
