best mod for $500

Well, when I first posted I saw that you had exhaust but I wasn't sure if you meant headers or not. It's gonna come down to preference, but I think the stall will net you a great gain and then you will already have it if you decide to go with a nice size cam on down the road.

From the dyno numbers I've seen, long tubes are a good bang for the buck! I've got a set of pace setter's layin' in the garage that will go on the 6.0 I'm dropping in
If I remember right, it's like a 20-30HP gain and another 10-20TQ before tuning. Lyndon should be able to update your tune and get you some really good gains with the long tubes

kinda what i was leaning tawards. if you get a sweet cam you have to get a stall. i could just get a 3000 stall and later get a cam. if i do cam and stock stall that just sounds f**cking retarded

i think that im going to hold off on the stall and get the headers got a built 4l60e coming for the 6.0 (woulda done the 4l80e but the swap sounds like a pain and really expensive) so im going to drop the 6.0 on the stock 60e for fun and get a pot going to see how long the stocker will last
i know sounds dumb but blowing stuff up is one of my most favorite things to do

Yeh yeh, more expensive, but you could learn the whole picture as you add each mod. With a wideband, you tune your n/a fairly stock truck to nail 13:1 WOT with top timing and I bet you have a lot of fun, and beat everybody who was putting bolt ons on their trucks with no tuning.
But that's just me, I like to screw with stuff and learn what makes what tick. SO it's only natural I try and learn how to tune a mod. So with that said, if tuning and continuos modding isn't you...get a cam and a mail order tune.

This is what I plan on diong! Currently I am saving up for a Laptop, wideband and EFI Live. After reading on here it seems like everyone who mods their truck has to wait to get it tuned afterwards, I could not wait that long and being a do-it-yourselfer I would much rather do it myself.

waiting isnt that bad when i order a new part i call lyndon tell him what i orderd he sends me a new one most of the time its here by the time i get my parts. so i put the comp in the parts. wrap up the old comp and mail it back not so bad if you ask me
