Question Best Heads for a 5.3

Truck Specs:
-2003 Z71 Silverado 5.3L
-Whipple Supercharger w/ 12 pound pulley
-Alky Control injector kit
-Comp Cam camshaft (forgot the part# and specs, if needed just ask, and ill post them)
-4.10 gears front & rear
-3000 Stall with Trans go shift kit, and rebuilt 4l60
-Electronic Exhaust cut-outs, with Gibson headers
-Custom tune from Jason @ texas-speed

I have been wondering about are Heads for the 5.3. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will heads help, with my setup?

I have searched these forums and have found some decent information, but I wanted to get a final opinion on this from the truck guys.

The stock 6.0L heads are the most common setup. You can find them pretty cheap ($300-$500) and if you are friendly with a machine shop they can clean them up a tad and that's about all you really need. This will drop your compression to about 8.6:1 or 8.7:1 depending on what gaskets you use.

You can spent $1200-$1800 for a nice set of heads.A better option would be a good clean 5.7 0r 6.0 longblock.Better bang for the buck if power is what you are after.

Good stuff.

What difference would a combo of heads and intake make?

And what intake would u recommend for the 6.0L heads?
