Default Best Headers

ok guys, I have had the pacesetters on my truck I just sold. Now I want to know if their is any diffrences in the big 3 header comparision. I will run no cats on these. also fit and finish if anyone has any +/- to any of them. I don't see me spending $1000 on headers but pacesetter isn't bad. and AZSM headers have been around. any good or bad about them. jsut trying to see if their is any significant difference between the two for the $300 difference. I know they all have 1 3/4 primaries, 3/8 flanges but that's about it. thanks for any help.

I didn't like the clearance for the tranny lines on my bro-in-laws ASM's nor was the starter any fun to change. I helped with a 6.0L swap this weekend on a truck that had Dynatech's, starter was a breeze to extract and replace and the fit and finish was pretty nice. I also helped white1 with his Pacesetter's, which I was quite disappointed with the supplied clamps.

ok, on my truck the only thing I had to disconnect was the steering shaft. Other then that they slipped in. Honestly the hardest part we had was getting the damn exhaust out of the way.

If you ever try and take the pacesetters off you are screwed the clamps they supply crimp the pipes. Dynatechs by far, I love mine, you get what you pay for man, no way around it.

fitment on my truck is perfect once I figured out which way to slide em in lol.

that's why you order dynomax or walker stainless steel 2 bolt band clamps...hands down they're the best exhaust clamp i've ever used.

I didn't clamp my other ones I welded them up with a custom exhaust system. Ran around open headers for 2 days. I guess I will buy the pacesetters again. I am and always have been against clamping. It always seems their are problems with leaking and bending. So weld and their are alot less problems. My other truck is gone but if I did have to take them off I would either A.) plasma cut the headers right after the collector or B.) take a sawzaw to it.

reason why I didn't weld to the headers is cuz it will **** up the integrity of the ceramic coating. the stainless clamps work almost as good or better than a weld at the collectors for the reason being it's sealed good with gasket material between the slip fit and it will never rust being stainless.

once the weld starts to rust on your collector, your coating will soon deteriate.

Some copper sealant and some nice clamps will work well. If I went the pacesetter route I would buy the uncoated, weld me some flanges on them, get em coated and use ball joint connectors then it wont leak and is easily removable or you could just buy a better header to begin with.
