Default best cheap mod in world

I got the billet intermediate and OD servos installed, still waiting for the freakin shift kit to come in from kdsperformance (been a week now, and I am only 1 day UPS from them) The invoice that came with the servos said it was drop shipped from transgo, so no telling when I will get it.

I got true dual flowmaster 40 series 2.5" (non-delta) and no cats complete today as well, but damn! The servos are freakin awesome, the truck shifts sooooooo much better now, doesn't feel like its about to barf when it shifts!

IMO I would buy the 2 billet servos before the shift kit. The install took me 1.5 hours. I could do another one in 45 minutes though. I did learn some things though:

Step 1: Put front of truck on jack stands
2. support tranny.
3. remove cross member
4. drop tranny. (only drops about 3 inches)
5. remove heat shield from pass side of tranny.
6. remove lock ring around servo cover with flathead
7. remove cover and 1st servo
8. pull pin out with rest of guts
9. reach in and grab spring that is hiding inside tranny.
10. follow directions with servos
11. install pin and servos except for 4th gear servo and cover
12. install 4th and cover
13. use pry bar to hold servos in
14. make lazy *** friend hold prybar while you put in retaining ring
15. double check everything, reinstall crossmember, haul ***

Yeah, I'm sure you really miss those 5 second 1-2 shifts, right?

I've been told the billets are much too harsh, but maybe that's when they're used in conjunction with the Transgo Shift Kit. Be sure to update us when you get the shift kit in.

The pin absolutely would not come out of mine. There is no way I could have done it w/o dropping it, and I didn't even have a cat in my way.

I would definately do it, it firms up the shifts a lot, part throttle shifts are still fine, much faster but not hard. It doesn't spin the tires shifting or anything, its not that hard though I am sure it will after the shift kit.

hard to say, i when i put the servo in, i installed the shift kit at the same time, so i really dont know how much good it did by itself. however, it shift perty hard. it dont bark the tires on dry pavement or anything, but on a damp road at about 1/4 throttle. It will bring the back end around! i didnt use any washers in the shift kit. and i personally think it may be a little to hard still.

I have both billets w/ a TransGo in my '01 truck now. I used to have only the TransGo in my '99 Z71 and the billets REALLY make the shifts more positive.
