Default Belt squeak???

I have a problem with a belt squeaking. It only squeaks when I am cruising along and I hammer the throttle and the rpm's reach 5700-6000. Or off a dead stop up to 5700-6000. I have checked the tensioner and it seems okay. The belt is in good condition. Should I try a different belt. Maybe a Gatorback??? Has anyone had this problem.

I have the same problem and was told that it was just a "good shift" my wifes Yukon doesn't do it though.

I was told it could be the tensioner, belt or something related. I might try a Gatorback belt and see what happens. If it is "a good shift" thing then I hate to see what happens when I get my billet servos in.

Belt squeal used to be a big problem with the old v-belts. Somebody (like Permatex) made a spray can of "Belt Conditioner" or "Belt Lube" that you would spray on the belts / pullies, and it worked. It's not really a lube though, because a lube would make the belt slippery, and then it wouldn't grip. It does not make the belts slip. I haven't seen this stuff in a while because the serpentine belts generally don't need it. You might see if O'Reilly's or Auto Zone have it.
