Default belt pully moved

hey guys, i got bored today with nothing to do since im waiting on parts in the mail. and i got to thinking that if i install a ls1 intake, its gonna be alot lower than my stock, and my belt is right in the way of all my intercooler piping. so i just grabbed a wrench and started tinkering. here is what i did to make room to run tubing. tell me what you think.
1st pic show where the pully was, and where i moved it too.
2nd pic shows how the belt is run now. and look at all that room i have to work with under the belt now.
3rd pic shows where the old belt ran. and the arrow pointing shows where teh ls1 intake will point and why i had to move the belt.
4th pic shows the moved pully next to the alternator.

and no, teh pully dont rub the alternator. its abotu a 1/8th gap.
I know its alittle funky, but i think it will work nicely, my truck aint a show truck. its just a fun truck.

Looks good but, you'll need to come up with a different solution for the radiator hose also.

hehe piece of cake... once the electric fans are installed, the rad. hose will turn and come straight out tward the radiator, then turn back. it will require a custom hose, but thats easy stuff.

If I understand the pics correctly, the old belt routing gave more belt wrap for the whipple pulley. Am I looking at these right?

that is correct. it had about an inch of more contact.. however, i doubt it will be a problem. once i get a longer bolt to mount that pully correctly, ill give it a test run and see if the boost is lower at 6000 rpm's

I have to look again but the water pump neck itself may be in the way. PM Ryan23Silverado, he knows alot more about the swap then me.

I think you might face belt slippage problems. I don't know much about the Whipple, but that looks like a good bit less belt wrap.

did you just relocate it to where the bracket mounting bolt goes into the head? hell, if you did that and installed an LS1 or electric waterpump, looks like you could run an LS1/LS6/LSX manifold easily.

its mounted on one of teh alternator's mounting bolts. and as far as slippage.. there is only one way to find out, and that is do test drive it. so as soon as i find teh bolt i need, ill give it a spin and see how she does. and by the look of ryansilverado's pictures, he is using teh stock water pump. so i think the ls1 intake swap will be a piece of cake... however.. i think that if a throttle body was mounted on teh intake, it would hit teh alternoator bracket, however, since im just running a 3 inch pipe to teh intake, it will clear fine

I know a great place out in the middle of no whee to test it out tomorrow night.

I'm gonna be there with mine, and I think a friend of mine who just bought a used 03 ECSB with a 4.8 is gonna be there too. He's stock with the exception of a drop in K&N.
