Default BBK 1 3/4" Shorty Headers

Anyone have any experience with the BBK 1 3/4" shorty headers? Being in Cali I'd like to stay legal and since I can't seem to find any Bassani mid-lengths (I need the CARB EO #) I'm trying to find the next best thing.

I've heard good things about the smaller 1 5/8" JBA shorties but was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the bigger BBK units? For that matter I don't even show a CARB exemption on the BBKs so that might mean I'll just go for the JBAs.

been told shorties give no increase in power with the ls engines i would say the bbk would be the way to go if you had to run a shortie being they have a larger primary .

Ha ha, way to rub it in! I read your post and have been looking for a pair myself. I can't find anything but the chrome ones. If anyone has a line on the ceramic versions let me know or used set either chrome or coated for sale.

I met you at Irwindale a few weeks ago, nice truck.

I've got the BBK shorties but I changed the cats to Magnaflow hi-flo cats at the same time.

How was the fitment on them? Also, did you notice any seat of the pants gains?

The fit was great! Everything bolted right up. The only thing I had an issue with was i didn't realize until I took it apart that the headers didn't come with studs. I had to go to good ol AZ to get some. The truck definitely sounded meaner and ran smoother. It feels like I got more out of the top end, but no change on the bottom. It is a noticeable difference though.

Don't mean to rub it in haha.

I haven't been able to find a ceramic set other than the ones I bought. I did have to cut the EGR and AIR fittings off mine to make them work, but no big deal. Keep an eye out on ebay. That's where I found mine. Thorley makes a set of mids too. I've seen them on summit, don't remember what the finish on them was.

Oh ok. Yeah I remember. Probably heading out there on Thursday.
