Default Battery relocation pictures

Don't know if ya'll remember or not, but I got the bracket to mount the battery over the passenger side fender up next to the firewall. Took a little bit of planning and thought to get it to look close to factory, but here are the pics.

The last picture is the original ground cable on a new bolt. I moved it to a bolt on the A/C bracket that goes directly into the block. The smal wire that is also attatched to the ground cable at the battery terminal I put a ring connector on and ran it to the mount on the alt bracket for the power distro box.

I cut the factory terminal off from the mount pretty close, and used a 2 gauge splicer from Lowe's to connect it to the new battery cable. I ran the new cable over to the battery around the back of the motor. There is a wire that goes from the factory pos terminal on the battery to the fuse box. That wire I completely made new with some 8 gauge amp power cable I had laying around. It is in the same loom as the new power cable that goes around the back of the motor.

Nice pics and good job. It looks factory except for the nice bright red wire.

Anything going where the stock battery was at or just cleaning the engine compartment up some?

ATI guys might want to look into this mod. Maybe they could run the air filter down there. Might not be room to get past the charger though in that direction, hmm.

Why did you do this again? I mean is it functional? Or just for looks?

To be different and functionality ...

I think that the red thing that goes over the stock terminal will fit over the new terminal ... I need to get it and see if I can make it fit. The red cable that is kida stray is for the amps.

I have to do something with mine soon, if I am gonna show some more, well compete for stereo. I got points knocked off last comp for the battery terminals. No one makes a sidemount block that protects the terminal. I may just run it to the aux batt connector by the altenator. Still need to cover the terminal on the batt though. Good idea flyer.

For the battery, no, it was a GM part number ... 15705102. You remove the bracket that is there currently, reuse all the bolts from that bracket. The brace at the top of the corner has to come out for the battery to fit there.
