Question base timing for a carbed 383???

Guys I am on the home stretch of my 383 install. I am going to try to make some noise with it tonight. I need to know where to set my timing baseline once we get it started. I will be running 93 octain and the engine is 9.5 to 1 compression. I am running a MSD digital 6 and the msd billett distributor. Also a Holly 770 street avenger.

I say start with around 8* (vac unhooked if applies) at idle and 32* at full advance (2500+) and go up from there. Sould be safe there. Just listen carefully for knock then you drive it.

Depending on what heads and cam.....you may want to try 34-36 max timing.
