Default bad for truck w/new engine to sit?

Is it bad for a new engine after being installed to not be driven much? I have driven it once a week for about 5-10 miles to keep it from totally sitting. It has some mechanical issues that the mechanic needs to address and he hurt his back and will be unavailable for a little while. I am trying to not drive it much because I have a new cat and we are not sure the problem was fixed that fried the old cat. The engine did get broke in about 300 miles or so before it had the new cat installed and had to sit.

What is the best thing to do? I know people store vehicles for periods of time but mine is not just sitting I start it up twice a week and drive it once a week.

that sounds fine really. I let the dune buggy's motor sit unstarted for weeks at a time and I have no problem starting it up and running it. being efi is nice since the fuel wont clog most parts like a carbed motor would.
