I just looked back thru the thread. I didn't realize you said NONE of the bolts line up. Somebody definitely screwed up!

I was thinking hogging those holes out sounded like a horrible idea too. That would give you hell for balancing. I guess if you did that, just be sure to have it balanced afterwards. I would try and get the right one though.

This sucks ... maybe I need to buy a flex plate from Yank when I get the converter.

Are you sure they didnt just send you a converter set up for a 4l80e flywheel. You told him a stock 6.0 fly wheel, but dont they come with a 4l60e and 4l80e trans also?? I know when i put in my 6.0 I had to use the flywheel off my 4.8 because the bolt holes that came with the flywheel on the 6.0 wouldnt line up.

Send the convertor and the flexplate to them and then you are assured to get the right one. Just makesure you do it signature required just in case.

I second this thought, the 6.0 does come with a 4l60e and a 4l80e, maybe yall were crisscrossed on which flexplate, might want to check out another flexplate.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The pattern on the 6 liter/4l60 flywheel would be the same as a 5.3/4l60 and that isn't what this converter has. I think Yank just messed up and I am not willing to wait two weeks just to get in touch with them, then wait on another converter etc. I took the trans back out, took the flywheel and crank spacer off and then placed them on the converter snout. I marked the holes then used a rotary rasp and hogged them out. I took my time and made it so that there isn't any "slop'" when the bolts are in but not tightened so I am confident it will be ok.

Now all I have to do is finish the motor installation and I should be back on the road! I will post once I get it going.
