Default Bad Cats? How to clean a MAF?

I have been having a feeling my truck isnt up to par.About 4 months ago i started gettin a code for the cats manily bank 2.Basically just a code tellin me hey your cats not workin properly.Well,i didn't think much of it because i figureed it was just from the LT's and such....but now that i actually am thinking about it i had the LT's on there for almost a year and never threw this code.Anyway,i simply had my tuner remove the o2's out of the computer so that it woudn''t throw anymore codes. Now i am thinking they may be clogged and was wondering how i might go about checking this?I know you can tell with tempetaure readings but i guess i'll just ahve to bring it in the shop for that. But is there any other way to tell?
Also i was wondering if there is something you can use to clean a MAF without hurting it?I know the oil in the CAI's can make them go bad and i was wondering if i can help the thing out with cleaning it up every so often? Thanks guys.
Joe

When my cats went out at 40,000 miles they would rattle at idle. You could hit them with a rubber mallet and noise would stop temporarily. As for cleaning maf just use electical cleaner.

I would highly recommend 'CRC: Electronic Contact Cleaner' for a few reasons...

1.) Its very effective.
2.) Its drys very fast.
3.) The can can generate plenty of cleaning power, but you want to still be careful with the diodes on the MAF.
4.) and most important, its made in PA

The diodes are the little thin things briding the vertical bars. Its not really important to identify what they are, but to just to err in the side of caution when subjecting the MAF to high-pressures. IE. clean it gingerly.

Oh and i would imagine its available in LA, CRC Industries is a pretty big name in terms of products like that.
