I was able to come up with a low mileage LS6 cam/pushrods/springs set for cheap ($100) so I'm going to swap that into my truck while it's apart (still finishing up some wiring and other stuff after the T56 swap).
The 5.3 long block is stock.
The mods are (very basic):
- CAI and ported TB
- LS1 intake (LS6 intake is a future mod I save up some more $$$)
- stock port matched manifolds, no cats, an x-pipe, bullet mufflers, dumped out the back
- under-drive crank pulley
I'm trying to get an idea of the average gains from an LS6 cam on a 5.3. Some things say 10RWHP others say 30RWHP. My guess was somewhere in the middle (20RWHP?).
Regardless, I couldn't pass it up. I figure I'll run it for now and later swap it into the Tahoe.

If the truck is already apart I guess it would be worth the time to swap, Id expect 10-15rwhp na, but if you ever throw FI on it, it will be nice to already have in there.
