Has anyone figured out yet how to make the autoTrack in our 1500 trucks work with the 80e?

i dont think so. last i heard someone was working on a new output shaft for the 4l80e that will go into the autotrack(and AWD case).

they did make some LD2500 trucks with a 6.0 and 4l80e and autotrack. one of those could be swaped in and i wonder if maybe you could just buy the input hub for one and swap it into your case. i have always wondered that but never tried it.

yes that is what I have gathered... correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "np8" code the same for both the 1500 and the 2500. AND the 2500 models only have three button switch without the auto. Hmm. I sure wish I knew the answer to this one. It would make the swap a whole lot more applealing. Do you know who is working on it or is it a

big tex will know who is working on it. the ss guys are wanting it prety bad i think.

i have never seen one but i am told GM makes a 2500 light duty with a 6.0/4l80e/autotrack. if you could find one of those at a junk yard it would probably bolt right in. by autotrack i mean exactly what we have in the 1500's. an auto button, 4hi, 4lo and 2wd.

I wonder how the junk yard guys would know the difference? I like your idea of just swapping the shaft.. I'll have to make a few calls and see what I can find out. Any word on your new motor and tranny yet?

yep my 1500HD has the 4l80e and autotrac. Mine works great! no problems at all, I actually like the fact that you can feel it engaging.

hey moregrip, any chance you could snap some pic's of your front end set up sometime? i am wondering if a front diferential out of your truck would just fit in mine or if the entire front end is diferent. i am looking for pic's of the upper and lower control arms and the frame area there. the flanges, the front case. anything you can see in there.

does anyone know what front diferential the 1500hd's/2500ld's have and does it have some type of elocker/airlocker available?
