OK I went, I'm glad I didn't see any of you because I went to sleep at the light. The truck is almost where I wanted it [if you adjust the times,(I have been corrected, that there is no such thing) ] but my R/T may have narcalepsy. Well one free put-down per member please. It was my FIRST time there. Here it is:
First run, I eased back 1/2 way down and got back on 3/4 way down due to poping or misfireing.
R/T...1.18
60'...2.34
1/8...9.77 @74.85
1/4 15.05 @93.56 on N2O
Second run:
R/T...1.25
60'...2.28
1/8...9.37 @77.13
1/4...14.65 @91.18 on N2O
Let the slamming begin
I did have some cool burnouts any style points for that ?

Since you are a "track newbie" I won't give you a hard time (this time). But, I will give you a introductory class of Dragstrip 101.
Reaction time has nothing to do with your ET. There is no such thing as "adjusting the times". You would have ran the exact same times that you did, even if you would of had perfect reaction times. The ET clock doesn't start when the christmas tree turns green...it starts when your front tires leave the staging beam.
Anyways, sounds like you had fun. How much were you spraying?

Well that sux then. Where can I get a copy of "Dragstrips For Dummies". I have a couple of buddies that I would like to show that too. I'm srayin 100 shot. But something is still not right, I expected low 14's or high 13's with what I've done so far. I had a couple of problems though with misfireing or something, and I broke loose when the nitrous kicked in at 3000 rpm on both runs. It was pretty cold out there.

That has some basic racing tips.
What RPM were you spraying at? Do you have a rpm switch and a bottle heater. If you dont have a bottle heater, then the times arent that bad, but if you have a bottle heater, then YOU SUCK
BTW, why didnt you take tony with ya, he's the king of HRP

Yes the times suck. I have an MSD switch with pills at 3000 to 6000. I do have a heater, but the higher the pressure the worse the motor popped or backfired. Some stange noise. I haven't heard or know much about detonation or knock retard but would like to solve this problem. Not much help so far on the other N2O board. I called Tony but he was under the weather
OK, next.... Daren that counted as you one put down

Yes, popping or backfiring is a really bad thing on the juice. Not sure what it is, but cant be good. Are you running wet or dry? What kind of gasoline were you running? Next time, try some race gas from the track. My truck ran really well on that stuff. Also less chance for detonation with a little higher octane. If you are running a wet kit, it could be puddling in the intake. Did it blow off your air filter when it popped? Good luck. Im going to the track in a few min. Hoping for some 11's in the vette today, and hoping for 12's on motor
