got the studs today from Thunder Racing (best sponsor barnone) the install was pretty easy, and strait forward
. the hardest part was cleaning the bolt holes and being patient enough to get it done. they went in fine, i finished the passenger side first so i put that head on just to see if it would fit, and it did like a champ, had probably 1.5-2.5" extra room above the head when putting it on, i was very happy and surprised at that. i finished up installing the studs on the other side and called it a night. tomorrow i'll put the new lifters in and put the header studs on the heads and install the new heads finally, then once the new cam gets here probably saturday or monday i'll get it put in and finish it up and have some fun
with the heads off the motor the studs look pretty beefy, it's pretty nice to have them also, they're much easier than doing it with a set of stock bolts, it's kinda a placebo enhancment just having them there. i'll get some pics tomorrow and post them when i get to the shop. last day of spring break and all i've done is work on the truck and work....oh well, it's fun!!

Mine went in just fine too.
Slow .. I hope you put the lifters in BEFORE the heads, otherwise, you are gonna get good practice at pulling heads.
How far away was the bolts on the firewall from the head when you were putting it on? That was my only concerns.

If you can ... get a picture of the clearance of that stud on the firewall sticking out. Did you cut it down or anything like that?
I got mine on with the studs in first, but I stood on the crank pulley with the tranny out, so the motor was tilted way up.
