I would put money on the failure rate from the customer being an idiot over the builder doing something wrong especially with a larger company at 1000:1 or more. Everybody screws up... but the "car guys" out there seem to fall into the screw up category at a pretty high rate.

If you find a rash of guys complaining then maybe look into it... otherwise it's just one guy.

I can respect your opinion @someotherguy .

With this particular line of engines, I have read a couple of instances of there being issues but ATK as taken care of the customer 110%.

I have no dog in this fight so I'm out at this point and will just leave y'all with this: if you google "atk engine reviews" you'll see it's more than "just one guy" lol

As with pretty much any product or service, you're going to have a mix of reviews. I sure see a lot of bad ones. They can't ALL be idiots. Remember, half the people out there are below average.

True. But if you follow that ideology you would never buy anything. Type Silverado or Sierra, F150 or Ram into Google and you just get page after page of fails. I don't care either but I wouldn't turn away just over a couple negative Google reviews. Not agreeing doesn't make one of the 2 parties below average lol.

I read so many bad replies and experiences with any of the reman companies, I ended up just going with a low mileage junkyard replacement.

I've never heard anything BUT good about ATK.

However I'm a tech by trade and have installed many engines in my years. I have had an overwhelming amount of good experiences with used engines and also and overwhelming amount of bad experiences with LOW COST rebuilds. A quality rebuild is very expensive. If you don't want to spend the money go used.

I installed one of their hemi 5.7 rebuilds in a charger, it was an excellent engine. But it also cost 6k if I recall correctly.

No experience...however....a low mileage replacement will probably be better. Pull the oil pan, clean it out, bolt it up and go.
