Default Anyone using 862/853/806 notched heads

Any guys in here using the GM notched heads? Normally the 862/853/806 castings? I realize not all of those castings have notches on the deck, but what head gasket are you using for them, or are you having the deck welded then milled down to use a reg gasket?

weld and mill is the only way to guarantee it and be able to use a MLS gasket instead of the graphite. I think Felpro has a MLS that'll work on the notched heads, but I don't have experience with it to recommend.

That USED to be the only way. Until now. We have mls gaskets specifically made for notched heads. One set will fit 4.8/5.3/5.7 and the other set will fit 6.0 and even 6.2l blocks. In case someone has a nice pirted set of heads and do not want to buy another set etc or port their stock set.
They are much cheaper and the only other mls set out there with the notch from felpro.
The 4.8/5.3/5.7 gasket set is $50 and the 6.0 set is $70.
.053 compressed thickness as well.
Since gm got rid of their composite gaskets for the 4.8/5.3/5.7 in both separate and the gmpp 12498543 we knew we had to do something and we decided mls design was better than any fiber or composite gasket.

This is what the ls1 style looks like. Notice the 2 notches on the center 2 cyls. They are universal side to side.

And here are the links
