Default anyone tried there own ecoboost?

Got this 4.8 my buddy gave me that I was goin to build but I was thinkin of twin snails with no more than 10lbs of boost. The little motor already gets the best mpg's out of the bunch. Im not looking for huge power! The power and torque of the ecoboost would be more than enough.

does anyone think I can get that with the fuel economy of one two?
I had two 300zx a few years ago and I think there turbo's would be perfect for this and they might bolt right up(with moding the factory manifolds). Ill have to check.

What do you guys think?

What would be cool is to try the twin turbo 4.8 idea in a 3/4 ton vs. A stock lq4 fuel mileage

The current 5.3 combo is the most fuel-efficient engine in the lineup, with AFM and VVT is combo with the 6-speed. Although I like where you're going with this, I don't think you'll surpass the mileage of a well set-up 5.3/6L80E; keep us posted on your results though.
I think with small enough turbos and driven well this could be more fuel-efficient than an LQ4 in a 3/4-ton; certainly more efficient than the 8.1. However, bear in mind that, while the Ford Ecoboost gets the GM 6.2 combos for mileage while cruising around town, everything I've heard says that when loaded or playing, it's the turbo Ford that really sucks down the fuel, not the big GM V8. Fwiw.

I've got a set of twins going on a 4.8, but its no ecoboost... Its more than just turbos that makes that engine do what it does. lol

I've always wondered why GM has never mated the 6 speed auto to the 4.8 liter. My current 5.3/6Speed gets way better mileage than my old 07 NNBS 4.8/4speed RCSB ever did.

Wel your in luck, it is goin into a 3/4t...but it will be a a late 70's to early 90's 3/4.

Ive been reading alot on the 6l' series of trannys. Might try to work one of those in there. All I would need is a newer 5.3 or 6.0 harness with the 6l tranny. Tune around all the DOD and VVT. Hmmmm sounds like a sweet prodject.

Another question, I have a chance to pick up some 243 heads cheap cheap would adding those help. No porting but milled to keep the same comp. ratio. Im sure they flow better just dont know if its worth it for this build.
