Anyone here hitting 450-500 RWHP with a single 3" exhaust pipe?

I didn't say the displacement was going to remain the same now did I??? I don't want to get into the specifics of the build as it's off topic to the question I initially asked. It's looking like I should go the true dual setup after reading that thread on tech with them upgrading to the 4" catback. Just sucks how expensive this damn exhaust setup is getting! Now I'm concerned I won't be able to jam any big magnaflow mufflers under the truck side by side to keep it quiet...... That is, unless I butcher up a 4" edelbrock diesel catback and glue (weld) it together.....

Now here's a peek for you Michael......

Hopefully you're at least going up to 427 cubes. Wouldn't be surprised to find you running the new PI heads. The real question is what intake manifold are you going to use?

What about header specs?

I eventually want to go true dual 2.5's, but I won't be pushing nearly as much HP as what you're projecting...I remember you mentioning a stroker somewhere along the line For now I'm just going with a single 3" catback with a cutout to keep costs down and try to do it all myself.

Sorry to get off topic...

Bud, I'm still going to run a 1 7/8 x 3 header. I'm still waiting for Kooks to take these ones back that I attempted to install. Depending on how everything is handled by Kooks will determine whether or not I purchase another set of their headers.

Cool deal Joe, hopefully they do the right thing...from what I've read here, their F-body headers fit our trucks better than most truck headers lol. I'm going to go find that thread on tech...

But anyway i did find in my search it was with his big truck when it was on n2o before the turbo and it put down 525hp n/a and 748hp on n2o thru 3"ypipe and 3"tubing thru a borla to the tailpipe fwiw..

I suppose the real question is, is 3" enough to see the max potential of a 500rwhp setup? Any online calculator for exhaust and dynos over on tech speak to the contrary that 3" is not big enough to extract all the hp out of a stout NA combination.

also says he used 1 7/8-2" stepped race headers before all that. could more Hp of been had with bigger catback?? probably a little bit, but i think that shows how much potential single 3"tubing has imo..
