I think trucks with the tow package come with a tranny cooler. If you could find one in a junkyard and get the cooler stuff off it that would make for a nice clean install. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I have a Hayden Rapid-cool, the OEM cooler that comes with the tow package and the radiator heat exchnager. All are hooked up in series and work very well with the electric fan set. The fan's added cfm flow (5700 vs stck 2500) helps keep the temps down. The PI 3500 converter tends to heat things up fast.

I "fabbed" up some quick sheet metal brakets and painted everything black. I will not use through the core retainers...they tend to have long term issues with cracking/stressing the core tubes.

Just make sure you get the "Rapid Cool" series. They are made much better and are more rigid...good for mounting.

My 1500HD has a factory installed transmission cooler. I don't know if the standard 1500 have one or not.
