Keeping a stock muffler you'd be surprised how quiet the headers are. It actually smoothens and mellows out the exhaust note. Especially with the resonators. I still think this is your better way to go.

My truck is a whole lot quiter at an idle and low rpm than it was with the manifolds. Mufflers are 40 series flows.

Where do you live? Here in the north we can drive down trails and hunt. If you see a grouse, you can get out and flush em, same with ducks in potholes. With a loud truck they would hear you coming from a mile away and skedaddle. As you said, obviously I don't hunt inside my truck.

Hirdlej(Joe), I have NO desire for headers. I've had them on about 8 cars. On my 02 Camaro I put headers on and took off the cats. It was fairly loud. I ran it that way until I got the latest set of headers. With the new set of headers, I put the cats back on. It's a little more quiet but still a lot louder than stock. Oh yeah, I'm still running the stock muffler on my Camaro. So in my opinion, if you have headers on, it's going to be louder than stock.

I want it QUIET.

Also, I don't feel like shelling out money for headers and then going to an exhaust store to fab/hook up some pipes.

Thanks for your suggestions everbody, but as the thread title states, I'm looking for their STOCK pipes/cats.

So does anybody have their old pipes laying around, or plan on putting headers on their truck?
