Anybody else hooking up with the GY eagle GT II?

There are mixed reviews on these tires. Personally, I would never put them on my truck, or tell anyone to put them on their theirs. Go over to tirerack.com and read the 150+ reviews....some are good, but lots of people talk about hydroplaning on them. Noisy, out of round, unever wear....and like Flyers said, downright dangerous in wet weather. You couldn't pay me to put them on my truck.

I'm in the market for tires too. For stock 16" rims. I have heard something a while back about firestone Indy 500 tires and sounded good. I am going to try and go searching for a place that sells 'em locally tomorrow.

For what it's worth, I had these on my truck for a while. I ran the 285/60/16 on stock 7" rims, which isn't recommended. Mine seemed to hook okay, but my 4.8 isn't making power like 01Thunder's.
I can't stress enough how much I hated these tires in the rain.
On a side note though, I'm currently running Firestone Indy 500's. They are an awesome tire for the money. They work great in the rain. My only complaint about them so far is that they seem to flex too much in turns for my taste. I have this set on my 6 1/2" steel chrome rims though. I'm running 255/70/16. I wish I had gotten the 265. If I remember correctly I got em for under $400 bucks and that was from a Firestone dealer.

I am running Yokohama AVS S/T's. I am running 17's though. 275x60x17 to be exact. But I love them, especially in the rain. They provide excellent wet traction. I'll let ya know how they do though after next week when I get my converter installed.

I've got about 28,000 on a set of these and am about to buy another. They're great tires that handle well....but I couldn't speak very well on the topic of 'hooking up', since I don't have that problem with a 3 ton truck with a 4-link on 20's.
The best part is that Tire Rack has them on sale right now....my 305/50-20's are only $141 each, a nice drop from the previous $201 price. If you live near a Discount/America's Tire, they usually match that price + what Tire Rack would charge you on shipping.
Good luck with your decision.

yes bad weather/rain does pose a problem.. but I dont drive the truck when it rains.
+ this was the widest tire I could find, and the only brand that makes it...
when I get new rims, I WILL be changing tires
