A friend at work had his fuel pump die. I told him that I would help him replace it. Is there anything I need to know or have? Any special tips that should speed the process. Where is the best place to get a pump cheap? Thanks

well i bought my factory pump two years ago from O'riley's and i THINK it was around 200 or so.
and the best way to do the pump is to remove the bed. just remove the filler neck, un-bolt the bed, its only four bolts, and slide it to the back til the top of the tank is visible.
or if you have a cherry picker, you and get some rope and tie an x using the loops in the corners of the bed and lift the bed with the cherry picker

I 2nd removing the bed, if you cant it isn't to bad but be sure you drain all the fuel. The down side to not removing the bed is the hoses and wires make it hard to deal with going back in.

I dropped my tank...wasn't too difficult, but I had run the tank almost completely dry. I removed my driveshaft and was able to sit upright in there and see what I was doing while disconnecting the lines. If there's fuel in the tank though, you'd be much better off removing the bed.
